Choosing A Domain or URL
Choose The Right Domain Set Up For Your Site
Deciding which domain or url to use for your site is important. Tunebud offers a number of different set up options depending on whether you want to run your Tunebud site as a stand-alone website or if you want to run it alongside an existing website that you already have.
Which choice you make also has an impact on setting up your payment gateway for selling music or your site and also running subscription model for sales on your site.

Using Your Own Domain
You can use any domain name that you own. Or you can purchase a new domain name for your Tunebud site.
Important Note: When using or purchasing a domain name, you do not need to purchase any additional hosting, website packages, ssl certificates or any extras that domain name companies might try and sell you. Tunebud handles all of this! All you need to purchase is the name itself which is typically around $12 per year.
Once you have the domain that you want to use, please contact us and we’ll arrange your website switch to your chosen domain. All your existing music and content from your Tunebud temporary domain will automatically switch across.
Important Note: When using your own domain you keep 100% of your music sales and payments go direct to you. As part of the switch process you will set up a Stripe account and receive sales directly through Stripe.com.
Running Your Tunebud Site Alongside Your Existing Site
You might already run your “main” website through Wix or SquareSpace or WordPress etc. You can still keep your main website and run your Tunebud site alongside it on a subdomain. You can then link between the two sites and set the same branding so that you have a seemless transition between your main site and your subdomain.
For example your main site might be: www.johnsmith.com
You will then run your Tunebud site on a new subdomain of your choice such as catalogue.johnsmith.com or license.johnsmith.com
You can configure your Tunebud site with specific options such as removing the “home” page so that users go direct to your music search page and your “home” page stays on your main url.
There are lots of custom configuration tools for use when running your Tunebud site alongside your main domain.
Important Note: When using your own domain and subdomain you keep 100% of your music sales and payments go direct to you. As part of the switch process you will set up a Stripe account and receive sales directly through Stripe.com.
